Upon completion of a RASCI workshop, the participant
should be able to:
- Describe the physics of the nerve stimulator.
- Explain three dimensional anesthetic and functional human
anatomy.
- Review surface anatomy necessary for the practice of modern
Regional Anesthesia.
- Perform surface transcutaneous non-invasive nerve
“mapping” and single-injection peripheral nerve and
plexus blocks.
- Place catheters for continuous blocks on the brachial
plexus via the interscalene approach, the cervical paravertebral
approach, the infraclavicular approach and the axillary approach.
- Place catheters for continuous blocks on the lumbar plexus
via the lumbar paravertebral approach (psoas compartment) and
anterior approaches.
- Place catheters for continuous blocks for continuous
thoracic and high lumbar paravertebral blocks.
- Place catheters for continuous blocks on the femoral and
