Dr. John Laur Named Medical Director of the Ambulatory Surgery Center

Dr. John Laur

 

 

Dr. Laur has been named medical director of the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).  As director of the ASC, he is responsible for managing the clinical and administrative operations, overseeing the activities of all constituents who provide surgical and support services with the ASC, and developing and managing the financial performance of the ASC.  Previously, Dr. Laur served as assistant director of the ASC. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Laur on his new position and supporting him as he assumes leadership of this important clinical area.
Dr. Michael Todd Receives Distinguished Service Award

 

  

Michael Todd, M.D., received the Distinguished Service Award from the Society of Neurosurgical Anesthesia & Critical Care (SNACC) during the group’s 37th annual meeting held recently in New Orleans, LA. This award is presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the field of neuroanesthesia and also to the Society. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Todd, Chair, Department of Anesthesia, University of Iowa.

On October 17, 2009, the department hosted an alumni reception held in conjunction with the recent 2009 annual meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Many alumni and friends attended, enjoying conversations regarding memories of their days in the department and since. Photos taken during this celebration can be viewed here.
